What sort of products is Go Baby looking for?
We are looking for products invented by a mom (or grandma) that were created to support the lifestyle of today’s mom. We would like to see products which are specifically designed as a solution to a problem, whether it be aiding with feeding, getting a baby to sleep, for bath time, early literacy, transportation or play time. If a mom will find a use for it then we want to know about it.
Does my product have to be mom-invented?
We will consider products invented by a woman (mom, auntie, grandma, sister) but will give precedence to products that are mom - or grandma - invented.
Why am I paying a $50 fee just to be considered for testing?
Because Go Baby can only accept products that are safe, useful, and mom - or woman - invented, we must charge a nominal fee to cover the costs of reviewing and vetting the application. Only once we are sure the product is appropriate for evaluation will we charge you for the second part of the application fee.
After I submit the application, what’s next?
Go Baby will review the application to verify that the product is mom invented, has the proper CPSIA certificates of compliance (if applicable), and is appropriate for our program. We will notify you within 48 hours whether or not your product meets this first set of criteria.
Once my product has been screened and is ready to be tested, what’s next?
We will send you an invitation email requesting additional information along with samples of the product. Depending on the size and nature of the product being tested we may request between 3 and 20 samples.
On the application there is a question about CPSIA certification or safety regulations. What if my product is not yet compliant?
Go Baby will consider evaluating products that are in the process of obtaining their CPSIA certifications; however, we will not put your product on our website without the appropriate completed certificates of compliance. If you need help with the CPSIA regulations and how to get certificates of compliance, please visit
www.cpsc.gov/about/cpsia/cpsia.html for more information.
We may also be able to help you. Please write

What happens after I send the product samples to you?
We will send your product out to our network of Mom Testers across the nation who will then use your product, participate in focus groups, complete surveys and rate your product based on our established 10 point criteria.
What types of things are the products being evaluated for? How are they scored?
How do you determine what gets the “Seal of Approval?” The products will be evaluated on 10 pre-set criteria, including: Usefulness, Practicality, Ease of Use, Design, Style, Originality, Eco-friendliness, Safety, Solution to a Problem, and the overall “It-factor.” Scores on all qualities are collected and averaged for a final grade. The products with passing scores will then be awarded the “Go Baby Approved” seal.
How long will the approval process take?
Products will be sent to Mom Testers across the country and the testers will be asked to use the product for an appropriate amount of time before they are requested to score the product. Please allow at least 3 months from the time we receive the samples to when you receive your scores. Remember, all products will be reviewed by a minimum of 100 moms!
What happens if my product doesn’t score high enough?
We want you to succeed! If your product doesn’t achieve a high enough score, we will provide you with the feedback from our mom testers and encourage you to make appropriate adjustments to the product and then re-submit within 12 months. You may resubmit without paying additional fees.
Do I have to already have a product on the market?
No. If you have production samples available you may submit these for the seal of approval, though only a final product that is ready for market and has adequate stock can actually receive the seal. However, if you have an idea for a product but don’t know where to go next, or if you need help through any stage of the manufacturing process, you may consider our Go Baby Inventive Moms coaching program at www.gobaby.com/inventivemoms, where we can help you make your idea a reality!
Once I earn the seal, what happens next?
You will be given the license to use the Go Baby Approved seal on your packaging, your marketing materials and on your website. Your product will also be included in our shopping boutique at gobaby.com and will be announced to the Go Baby Network (which includes thousands of Go Baby customers as well as retailers and buyers) via our quarterly newsletter and blog, as well as on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
Is there an additional cost to being carried on the website?
There is no additional cost to have your approved product added to our website. Go Baby requires a 15% commission on each sale and will set up a drop-ship account with you. You will receive a check at the end of each month for all of your sales; we will handle credit card processing, maintenance of the website and notifying you of each sale.
How much does it cost to submit a product?
The initial application/screening fee is $50. If the product is thought to be appropriate for evaluation, an additional $349 will cover testing and evaluation of the product, receipt and licensing of the seal, and addition to the gobaby.com website for 12 months. There are no refunds to the application or the testing fees.
