InMat Fitness: Baby Yoga
ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNGER BABIES
Baby Climbs a Ladder
Place baby on his back on the InMat, allow baby to hold parent's thumbs in his fists. Gently grasp back of baby's hands and move in an up and down climbing motion, simulating crawling, for 30 seconds.
YOGA POSITIONS FOR OLDER BABIES/CHILDREN
Lizard on a Rock
(opening the back and chest)
This pose is fun with one, two or even three children! Kneel on the edge of the mat and bring your head down to the mat, resting your arms on the floor (this is called Child's Pose.) Allow your child to sit down on your lower back and slowly lie back so that his head is resting on your upper shoulders, in a gentle back bend. If you have more than one child, have the second child sit down on the first child's lap and lie down as well! This is definitely going to elicit lots of giggles! You can even switch positions and have your child get into child's pose and rest your head on his back!
