InMat Fitness: Baby Massage
Relax after learning to walk
With all the work babies do using their new-found walking skills, their legs can definitely use a rest! Holding one of your baby's legs on either side in the palms of your hand, glide your hands up and down the leg in opposite directions and in long strokes from hip to toes. Repeat for one minute on each leg.
These tips have been provided through a partnership with the family health and wellness team of Joy and Kevin Oriol, Owners of Body Lab Fitness in New York City. Joy is a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist and holds a Diplomate in Acupuncture from the NCCAOM; Joy is also a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher. Kevin is a New York State Licensed and Nationally Certified Massage therapist and American Council on Exercise Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. Together, they have spent over a decade bringing wellness services to every member of the family. This pamphlet is designed to give you some useful tips and techniques for various ways to bond with your baby through physical movement, acupressure and massage, and may help with some common ailments and encourage your baby's health and wellness.
